Mexican trio The Warning hosted a special Los Angeles premiere of their new concert film. The band, composed of three sisters (Daniela, Paulina, and Alejandra Villareal), proudly showcased their film “Live From Auditorio Nacional, CDMX” at the AMC Theater at The Grove in LA. Friends and family attended the red carpet and screening in support of the up-and-coming rock band. The trio revealed that they are already working on new music during an interview with mxdwn.
The release is in support of the band’s album, Keep Me Fed, yet The Warning is already looking ahead to what is next. “We stepped away from our writing sessions to come to the premiere,” Paulina told mxdwn on the red carpet. The band’s representative also shared that the band is looking to take time off to focus on new music following their film’s premieres and a few more press appearances. Not much information was revealed about the new music other than that it is still in the early stages of writing.

During the red carpet interview, mxdwn asked the band a few fun questions:
Q: What was your favorite moment of your three-day performance in Ciudad Mexico?
A: “My personal favorite moment, I stepped out of the drum kit, unconsumed, so I’m out jumping around,” stated Paulina. “It’s not every day I get to be like a frontwoman because we had somebody who could play the drums, thank you, Johnny (Tuosto), shout out.”
“I think you and I have the same favorite moment,” said Daniela while referring to her youngest sister Alejandra, “which is the very first song we had a huge kabuki out in front. And the moment it goes up we, get to see all the people for the first time. A full Auditorio Nacional, lleno (full).”
Q: What song do you currently have on repeat?
A: “‘Look to the sky’ by Antonio Carlos Jobim,” said drummer and vocalist Paulina.
“That’s a good one, you had it on right now while doing your makeup,” added Daniela, “I think I’m listening to a lot of Måneskin right now. I’m going to say, I don’t know how to spell it Italian, but Zitti Butoni, something like that, I don’t want to butcher it.” She referred to the song “Zitti E Buoni.”
Bassist Alejandro stated, “I don’t think I have a song, but I’ve had Papota, the entire album by CA7RIEL & Paco, currently on repeat.”
Q: Who would you die for to collaborate with?
A: Without skipping a beat, Paulina excitedly named Hayley Williams and LA’s very own punk rock group The Linda Lindas, another band composed of two sisters, their cousin, and a longtime friend. Daniela mentioned she’d love to work with Olivia Rodrigo.
Q: What is your favorite food to eat every time you visit LA?
A: Roscoe’s Chicken and Waffles!
Q: What is your go-to order for Roscoe’s?
A: Chili cheese fries with chicken, we share a waffle and lemonade with tea. “It’s an LA staple,” added Paulina.
The Warning’s red carpet look appeared to draw inspiration from their on-stage alter egos, Las Wawas, a nickname given to them by their fans. Dressed in sharp suits and matching button accents, all three sisters served on the carpet. Family and friends joined the band for the red carpet. The film’s Director Ivan Chavez, all members of the Holywars who opened their shows in Mexico City, and actor Nicholas Gonzalez attended the event. A very brief Q&A with their manager Rudy Joffroy followed the screening. Joffroy asked the band what they thought of the film. all three sisters were almost at a loss for words, stunned at the fact they were able to experience their own live performance.
Fans who missed the theatrical screening can still check out an audio recording of the show, available on physical release and streaming platforms starting Friday, August 22. The film was recorded over three concerts last February at Auditorio Nacional in Mexico City in front of a combined 30,000 fans. Out August 21 in select AMC theaters across the U.S. and via Cinépolis’ +QUE CINE across Latin America. The release marks a full-circle moment for the trio, from starting the band 10 years ago to performing at a major venue in their home country in front of thousands of fans.
As The Warning already works on new music for a possible upcoming record, fans can check out their live performance on the big screen and experience the full-throttle of these rock star sisters.
