My Brightest Diamond At The Peppermint Club On Oct. 24

Shara Nova, also known as My Brightest Diamond, has announced her sixth album, Fight the Real Terror, out September 13 via Western Vinyl. Nova also revealed a fall tour which includes a stop at Los Angeles’ Peppermint Club on Thursday, October 24.

My Brightest Diamond will be heading out on tour starting September 12 in Cleveland, OH through October 25 in Phoenix, AZ. The 16-date tour includes stops in cities such as Cincinnati, Brooklyn, Seattle, San Francisco, and more. Pop artist NOIA will join the tour as the supporting act.

Nova is a classically trained vocalist and self-taught multi-instrumentalist who records dazzling, shapeshifting music as My Brightest Diamond. Over the course of four groundbreaking albums, she has resisted the conventions of genre, blending elements of rock, art pop, and chamber music into a sound totally her own. Nova began writing Fight the Real Terror during a three-day black out that struck Detroit following the news of  Sinéad O’Connor‘s death.

“Fight the Real Terror is a question about activism, and about examining our vulnerabilities,” Nova says. “I am not offering answers but a glimpse into these contemplations. Writing quickly without orchestration forced me to be in the moment, focusing on structure rather than frill. I wrote & recorded a song a day in my home studio and rather than going back over to tweak, Tom Schick & I wanted to stay close to the unpolished emotion keeping the first drafts.”

My Brightest Diamond has released the new single “Have You Ever Seen An Angel.” The song revolves around the topic of death and those who have passed. The single was accompanied by a music video directed by Andrew Ondrejack.
