The KCRW Festival returns to the Hollywood Bowl with six shows. One show includes Mt. Joy and Local Natives at the Hollywood Bowl on Sunday, August 25.
The one-night event includes KCRW host Chris Douridas as emcee, Mt. Joy and Local Natives. Mt. Joy, The Philadelphia band behind “Silver Lining,” “Lemon Tree,” and “Evergreen” sets up shop at the iconic venue. Special guest Los Angeles-based indie rockers Local Natives make their return following the release of their most recent album, But I’ll Wait for You, released on April 19 via Loma Vista Recordings and Concord Music Group.
Mt. Joy formed in 2016 and made their mark with the hit single “Silver Lining” in 2018. Five years later, they’re mainstays of big festivals such as Lollapalooza, Austin City Limits, and Bonnaroo, and selling out iconic venues like Red Rocks, MGM Music Hall at Fenway—and next up, the Hollywood Bowl. The band consists of Matt Quinn, Sam Cooper, Sotiris Eliopoulous, Jackie Miclau, and Michael Byrnes. Mt. Joy has a total of three studio albums including 2018’s self-titled debut Mt. Joy, 2020’s Rearrange Us, and 2022’s Orange Blood.
Local Natives formed in 2005 and have a total of six studio albums. Following the release of their latest record, But I’ll Wait for You, co-founder Kelcey Ayer announced his departure from the band. The band has stated that Ayer will continue to tour with the band in support of the latest record.
