Anderson .Paak & The Free Nationals At The Hollywood Bowl On Sept. 24

Anderson .Paak and The Free Nationals are set to perform with an orchestra for the first time! Featuring the Color of Noize Orchestra led by conductor Derrick Hodge, Anderson .Paak and The Free Nationals will make their Hollywood Bowl debut on Tuesday, September 24.

Anderson .Paak’s critically acclaimed 2018 album Malibu was called “an expansive opus” by Pitchfork, and made the drummer, producer, and songwriter a superstar. He’s gone on to win eight Grammys, perform as one half of R&B superduo Silk Sonic, and exquisitely weave hip hop and R&B with classic soul. Performing with orchestra for the first time, Anderson makes his Hollywood Bowl debut alongside his band The Free Nationals, performing his critically acclaimed album, Malibu, and various work such as new work with NxWorries (duo with Kncwledge), Silk Sonic, and DJ Pee . Wee.

The superstar has a very light touring schedule for 2024 thus far, but will make special appearances at a few festivals including New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival. Anderson will also be performing at the Neon Carnival in Indio on Saturday, April 13. The superstar will be headlining as DJ Pee .Wee. James Kennedy and DJ Hunny Bee will also join the setlist for the desert festival.

Born Brandon Paak Anderson in Oxnard, California, as a teen he played drums in his church Band. He first began his career during his time at Musicians Institute, and eventually formed the Free Nationals, which included two fellow MI students, Jose Rios and Ron Avant. His transformation into Anderson .Paak, with his debut album Venice and a sophomore release, 2016’s Malibu met with universal rave reviews. He is now an multi-Grammy Award winner, producer, songwriter, artist & director. .Paak won the Grammy Award for Best Melodic Rap Performance of “Lockdown” and the politically charged video directed by Dave Meyers, garnered .Paak a Grammy nomination for Best Music Video. Most recently, .Paak has joined fellow artist Bruno Mars as one half of the R&B superduo, Silk Sonic. Their debut single “Leave The Door Open” garnered over 460 million streams and 350 million official video views. The album’s November 12, 2021 release received worldwide critical acclaim and earned the duo four Grammys. Anderson .Paak is a multi-hyphenate superstar who will now use his platform to propel new talent into the spotlight with the creation of his very own label APESHIT teaming with UMG.
