Veteran singer-songwriter, Kim Gordon, has announced The Collective Tour in support of her brand new album of the same name! She will be making a stop in San Francisco at The Fillmore on March 30.
Best known as the vocalist, guitarist, and bassist of alternative rock band, Sonic Youth, Kim Gordon’s solo career was born out of the disbandment of the legendary group. Gordon, a multi-faceted artist, has ventured into record-producing, acting, visual art, and fashion, across her over 40 year long career. Her legacy is most significantly attributed to her work with Sonic Youth and her impact on the grunge and riot grrl movements of the early 1990s.
Gordon has been a member of many other musical groups, including Free Kitten and Body/Head, both of which hold a distinctive musical style, showcasing Gordon’s natural musical talent. Gordon released her first solo single, “Murdered Out,” in September 2016. She would release three additional singles in 2019 before releasing her debut solo record in October 2019. No Home Record was widely acclaimed by critics and served as a successful launch for Gordon’s solo career, nearly 40 years since she debuted as a musician. Her newest record, The Collective, released on March 8 to even stronger critical acclaim than her debut.
