Vampire Weekend has announced a huge 2024 North American Tour. The tour kicks off this spring and includes a stop at Los Angeles’ Hollywood Bowl on Wednesday, June 12.
New York alternative rock band Vampire Weekend announced the Only God Was Above US North American Tour and released two new singles ahead of their fifth album Only God Was Above US, set to release on April 5 via Columbia Records. The first two singles of the upcoming record are titled “Capricorn” and “Gen-X Cops.” The new singles were released hours before the announcement of the full North American Tour. The tour kicks off with an already sold-out show on April 8 in Austin, TX and concludes on October 17 in Austin, TX. The 44-date tour includes stops in Seattle, Chicago, Toronto, New York and a festival appearance at Barcelona’s Primavera Sound. Special guests include, LA Lom, Mike Gordon, Christone “Kingfish” Ingram, Ra Ra Riot, Princess featuring Maya Rudolph and Gretchen Lieberum, Cults, The English Beat, Voodoo Glow Skulls, The Brothers Macklovitch, Turnstiles, and Mark Ronson DJ Set on selected dates.
The new Los Angeles tour date will be the first time the band has performed in LA since their 2019 performance at the Hollywood Bowl. Only God Was Above Us follows Vampire Weekend’s 2019 album Father Of The Bride. The fifth record from the band is set to contain 10 tracks. Last week, Vampire Weekend confirmed that the album had been recorded all over the world, from Manhattan to Los Angeles to London and Tokyo. The record was written between 2019 and 2020 as frontman Ezra Koeing wrote bulks of lyrics. It was primarily produced by Koenig and longtime collaborator Ariel Rechtshaid, mixed by Dave Fridmann and mastered by Emily Lazar.
