Multi-media metal band, Dethklok, and Japanese kawaii metal trio, Babymetal have announced a set of double-headlining shows here in San Francisco! The bands will take the stage at The Masonic on April 24 and 25.
Dethklok is a fictitious heavy metal band created for the Adult Swim animated show, Metalocalypse, back in 2006. The creative work of show creators, Brendon Small and Tommy Blacha, the duo serve as the songwriters for Dethklok and voices for all of the fictional band members. The first Dethklok tour took place in 2007 where Small, Blacha, and a traveling tour band played across 12 college campuses. It was such a success that the group embarked on a full US tour the following summer. The band has put out a total of four studio albums. They are known for their satirical and often humorous lyrics and song names with a pretty typical death metal sound.
Babymetal is Japanese idol group made distinctive by their heavy metal sound. Producer, Kobametal, founded the group in 2010 inspired by a lifelong love of metal music. The active members are Su-metal, Moametal, and Momometal who not only serve as the face of band but also the vocalists. The group has released four studio albums and previously toured alongside Dethklok last year.
