Cypress Hill at Stubb’s Waller Creek Amphitheater on May 8

Beginning this April, Cypress Hill will embark on the We Legalized It 2024 tour with fellow rap groups Pharcyde and Soul Mischief. Long-time activists, Cypress Hill pledges to donate $1 for every ticket sold on tour to The Last Prisoner Project—a non-profit organization committed to social justice and fighting U.S. drug criminalization policies. While on tour, Cypress Hill will stop in Austin, TX, on May 8^th, and take the stage at Stubb’s Waller Creek Amphitheater at 8 p.m. 

Formed in 1988 by Afro-Latino rapper Sen Dog, Cypress Hill rose to prominence in the 1990s, pioneering a fusion of Latin and hip-hop that defined West Coast hip-hop. Despite controversy over their on-stage marijuana use during live performances—which earned them a ban from NBC’s Saturday Night Live in 1993 after one of its members, DJ Muggs, lit up a joint during a group performance on the show—Cypress Hill persevered. The group kept up their momentum and was named Best Rap Group by Rolling Stone the same year, and even performed at the esteemed Woodstock festival just a year later. Since then, the group has continued to push boundaries and garner critical success.
