An American pop rock band, PVRIS, which has the same pronunciation as Paris, was formed in Lowell, Massachusets in 2012. In the band’s current lineup, after several changes over the years, we have Lynn Gunn serving as the vocalist and guitarist, along with Brian Macdonald, the bassist. When they created their first EP, Acoustic, the band had two former members, Brad Griffin as the drummer and Alex Babinski as the guitarist. The EP features four acoustic songs, “Waking up”, “Demon Limbs”, “Mind over Matter” and “Only Love”. After a few months had passed, they recorded and released their debut studio album, White Noise with Rise Records. This was the first time in their history that a female-fronted act, specifically Lynn Gunn, had appeared on the label’s roster. Although Griffin, the drummer, had left the band before its release, PVRIS had a lot to look forward to, with the album becoming a hit on the Alternative music charts in both the U.S. and the U.K.
After going on a couple of tours and a few collaborations, PVRIS came out with their sophomore studio album, All We Know of Heaven, All We Need of Hell in 2017. The following year, Marian Hill produced a remix of their song “Same Soul” from their previous album, featuring Jaymes Young. In 2019, the band worked with Marshmello, an electronic music producer and DJ, on the song “Hallucinations”, which was later released as part of their second EP, Hallucinations. Later on, guitarist Babinski left the band shortly after their third studio album, Use Me (2020). Although Babinski was missed, the band’s music continued to grow in popularity, leading to the release of singles “Anywhere But Here” and “Animals” for a short film directed by their tourmate Jax Anderson. As of 2023, their music continues to evolve and captivate audiences with their fourth studio album, EVERGREEN, which offers fans an alternative rock sound for their new generation of music.
