SoCal punk pioneers Social Distortion and Bad Religion are teaming up for a co-headlining tour this spring. The tour is set to kick off at Bakersfield’s Mechanics Bank Theater on Tuesday, April 9, 2024.
The co-headlining tour includes special guests The Lovebombs. The tour was announced via social media in which Bad Religion wrote the caption “we played our first-ever live show with Social Distortion, and now we’re finally going to tour the States together!” The 27-date tour will visit 27 different cities including Austin, New York, Detroit, and Chicago.
“Bad Religion and Social Distortion played together in 1980. Though we evolved in different directions, we both carried the torch of Southern California punk all along the way. Now we’re so excited to be on the same stage again,” stated Bad Religion lead vocalist Greg Graffin.
“This should be a very special tour and we are all looking forward to it,” said Mike Ness, lead vocalist and lead guitarist of Social Distortion. Social Distortion is scheduled to play their debut record, Mommy’s Little Monster, in its entirety in honor of its 40th anniversary re-release. The band has released six more albums since their 1983 debut Mommy’s Little Monster, with their latest being 2011’s Hard Times and Nursery Rhymes.
Bad Religion released their first record in 1982 titled How Could Hell Be Any Worse?. The band has a total of 17 records with the latest being 2019’s Age of Unreason. Bad Religion is known for their live energy and lyrics, as well as being on the road nearly every single year since their debut.
Join Bad Religion and Social Distortion for their first-ever co-headlining tour in which both punk legends will be performing some of their greatest hits. Tickets are on sale at AXS.com.
