Thursday at Irving Plaza on Feb 24

Thursday is an American post-hardcore band formed in New Brunswick, New Jersey in 1997. Currently, the members of the band are Geoff Rickly, lead vocals, Tom Keeley, lead guitar and backing vocals, Steve Pedulla, rhythm guitar and backing vocals, Tim Payne, bass, and Tucker Rule, drums.

The beginning of Thursday was in the basement show scene in New Brunswick, New Jersey. Over the years, the members have fluctuated in and out of the band. Thursday released their debut album, Waiting, in late 1999 with original guitarist Bill Henderson, who left the band in 2000 and was replaced by Steve Pedulla. When their second album was released, they gained major popularity and by the time of their third album release, they had reached number seven on the US Billboard Top 200 Albums chart.

In 2013, Thursday stated that they were disbanding, but they announced a reunion in 2016 with a series of shows that would take place over the next few years.

Thursday is attributed to being an influential band of the post-hardcore music scene in the 2000s and is credited with being one of the key bands to popularize emo scream vocals. Influences of theirs include Fugazi, Jawbox, At the Drive-In, Quicksand, My Bloody Valentine, Sunny Day Real Estate, The Appleseed Cast, and Sigur Rós.
