Album Review: In This Moment – GODMODE

Vein jolting music

Rock band In This Moment have been dazzling people’s minds with their music since 2005 and last month the band released their album GODMODE. Each track has face smacking instrumentation that fills the air with stunning sound while Maria Brink’s vocal performances serenade the ears with powerful tones. GODMODE just proves how passionate In This Moment is about their music.

Kicking things off is “GODMODE.” As a whole, everything is fantastic. The instrumentation sets the theme with gloomy guitar rhythms that strongly rely on thunderous drum playing. Instrumentally, the song welcomes listeners to In This Moment’s wild and crazy world.

“SKYBURNER” is a killer tune that consists of heavy hard rock. Right at the beginning, bass guitar can be heard shaking the background with great power while the lead guitar spices things up with electrifying notes. Also, Brink’s vocal performance is wonderful, the vocalist is able to sing in melody while screaming out the lyrics in pure rage.

“EVERYTHING STARTS AND ENDS WITH YOU” is an intimate composition thanks to Brink’s vocal tones. Throughout the whole thing, feelings of honesty and desire can be felt through the vocalist’s sincerely harmonic voice. “Everything Starts and Ends With You” is relatable to those of us who find that there is such a person we can not seem to live without.

“FATE BRINGER” is sexy, the instrumentation is heavy throughout with a solid vibe of ’80s rock that urges listeners to dance along as the music blares from their speakers. The sexiness of the track comes from Brink who is singing out the lyrics with a sultry seductive voice. The feeling of finding fate can be felt through the vocalist’s savvy performance.

In This Moment knows how to create dynamic musical material that shows how much they have grown as a band. Their fans will not be disappointed as the band sticks with their original song structure on this album.
