DJ Shadow has announced the Action Adventure Tour! The tour is set to begin on January 2024 and includes a stop at Los Angeles’ Fonda Theatre on Friday, January 19.
DJ and record producer is celebrating his new record Action Adventure with a full tour. The tour is set to kick off on January 18 in San Diego, CA and end in February 10 in Washington, DC before continuing overseas in March. The North American leg includes 15 shows in 15 different cities including Seattle, Vancouver, Chicago, New York, and more.
Known as the godfather of instrumental hip-hop, DJ Shadow, real name Josh Davis, has proven himself with groundbreaking, genre-defining solo output on such respected labels as Solesides and Mo’ Wax. Shadow’s first full-length work, Endtroducing….., was released in late 1996 to immense critical acclaim. Following the success of this album, he acted as a shadow producer for Rage Against the Machine for their album, Evil Empire. Endtroducing… made the Guinness World Records book for “First Completely Sampled Album” in 2001. Nearly six years after his debut production album, his second album, The Private Press, was released in June 2002. DJ Shadow has produced various projects and worked with artists such as Zack de la Rocha, DJ Cut Chemist, David Banner, and more. DJ Shadow is also widely known for cleverly manipulating samples and reworking rarely heard pieces of music.
DJ Shadow now has seven solo studio albums with the latest being Action Adventure, released on October 27 via Mass Appeal. The album follows 2019’s Our Pathetic Age. The new album is a personal take for DJ Shadow as he reflects on his relationship with music, the record was his personal challenge to write music that would carry different energies. Action Adventure does not feature any featured artists and is mostly instrumental with 14-tracks and nearly runs an hour length.
