American indie-pop band, TV Girl, is going on tour to promote their fourth album, Grapes Upon The Vine! The band was formed in 2008 in San Diego, CA with lead singer and guitarist Brad Petering, Wyatt Harmon on piano, and Jason Wyman on drums.
TV Girl’s first mixtape, The Wild, The Innocent, The TV Shuffle, was released in 2012 for free and they even treated people who downloaded the album with a complementary downloadable coloring book. They originally intended on making this their first album, but felt it was not official enough, and releasing it as a mixtape was more appropriate. TV Girl released their first studio album, French Exit, in 2014 and it reached large success in the indie music scene.
They have been known to sample music from the 60s and blend it with their hypnotic pop sounds. TV Girl has also been described as a sub-genre of lover’s rock, considering a majority of their songs are based around love and relationships.
Due to popular demand and a sold-out show at Terminal 5 on October 7, TV Girl the “Traveling All-Star Band,” will continue their NYC run with a show at the Knockdown Center on October 8! Tickets can be found at https://www.americasfavoriteindieband.com/tour.
