Wu-Tang Clan celebrates the 30th anniversary of their debut album, Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers) with American rapper, RZA. This run will take place from November 7-9 at the Gramercy Theatre in New York, NY.
RZA is presenting a very special run of symphony shows that follow a production titled “36 Chambers of Shaolin and A Ballet Through Mud,” in Denver, CO earlier this year that featured an orchestra and ballet. Fans can look forward and wait in anticipation to see if this run will take place in a similar manner. On his social media, RZA describes it as “a live orchestra experience.”
RZA, is originally from Brooklyn, NY but spent most of his childhood in Steubenville, OH. His career began early, as he started participating in rap battles around age nine. After some legal trouble in Ohio, he formed the Wu-Tang clan with two of his cousins and five childhood friends. He acted as a pseudo-leader for the group and subsequently was their producer.
Each member of the group would go on to pursue solo careers, and from 1994-1996, RZA continued to produce almost every Wu-Tang track. In years to follow, he would start to delegate production to other members and eventually, he only contributed to a small portion. RZA’s personal projects took him in the direction of making music for film, where he worked on many projects, such as Kill Bill.
Named one of the best hip-hop albums of all time, this celebration will be quite a treat for fans to experience! Tickets can be found on sale at Ticketmaster.
