American rock band from Orlando, Florida, Sleeping With Sirens, is coming to Emo’s Austin on September 1st, 2023! They are headed to Austin with Dean American and Tx 2 to put on an incredible performance for Texas rock fans!
Sleeping with Sirens formed in 2009 when the members of For All We Know and Paddock Park came together to create new music. Current members of Sleeping with Sirens include Kellin Quinn on lead vocals and keyboards, Justin Hills on bass guitar and backing vocals, Nick Martin on rhythm guitar and backing vocals and Matty Best on drums and percussion. They also have a live touring band member that just joined in 2022 named Tony Pizzuti. Pizzuti plays the lead guitar for the band on tour. Their musical style has been described as dabbling in many different genres within the rock industry. They experiment in hardcore rock, metalcore, alternative rock, screamo and emo, as well as pop rock, pop punk and some pop from time to time. This leads to them having a wide and diverse fan base.
The band first saw their shot to fame with their lead single for their first album, “If I’m James Dean, You’re Audrey Hepburn.” The song had a distinct draw to listeners because of the pop culture reference and the opposing sound it possessed. The debut album, With Ears to See and Eyes to Hear, was released on March 23rd, 2010. Their second album, Let’s Cheers to This, also came with a smash hit that added to the bands breakout to fame titled, “If You Can’t Hang.” The song went certified Gold in 2018, 7 years later.
The band’s buzz didn’t stop there. Their third album, Feel, debuted at Number 3 on the Billboard 200’s list of albums in the US. Since this quick rise to success, the band has released 4 more albums to date. Their 4th album was titled, Madness, and was released on March 17th, 2015. Their 5th album, Gossip, was released 2 years later on September 22nd, 2017 and their 6th album, How it Feels to Be Lost, was released on September 6th, 2019.
In 2021, Sleeping with Sirens released the first single for their 7th album, “Bloody Knuckles.” It wouldn’t be until over a year later that they would release another song from their upcoming album. The second single, “Crosses,” was released on June 22nd, 2022. 4 months later, the band released their 7th studio album, Complete Collapse, on October 14th, 2022. Just 2 months ago, on May 10th, 2023, they released a single with OmenXiii titled, “Do You Like Me Now.” It is a hip hop styled song and potentially a new era for Sleeping with Sirens.
