Satigold returns to the stage with a one-night-only show in LA. The singer-songwriter will perform at the Bellwether on Tuesday, August 8.
Santigold announced the single upcoming show at the new LA venue via social media. The singer also added that there will be new merchandise for the show with a film poster art series designed by Rahm Bowen. She is also one of the artist to take part of Amoeba’s YouTube series “What’s In My Bag?” where artists shop around the Hollywood record store speaking about memories and music that has influenced their career.
The singer, songwriter and record producer is celebrating her fourth album Spirituals, released on September 9, 2022. The album captures the feeling of surviving in the modern world while elevating yourself to new places. The record is mostly recorded during 2020 lockdown. Santigold struggledto define a space in which she could center herself and collaborate virtually with producers and contributors including Rostam, Nick Zinner, SBTRKT, JakeOne, Illangelo, Doc McKinney and Carlo Montagnese.
The artist had announced a full tour in celebration of her self-released record, but was forced to cancel as she was “simply unable to make it work.” The artist shared a long, detailed letter on social media stating the tough reality independent artists faced as they returned to live gigs. The artist also spoke about the metal and emotional toll the new reality inflicted on artists. Santigold has only performed selected dates since 2019, with the latest being the upcoming show this August.
