Danny Elfman returns to the stage this August with two shows in California. Elfman is set to perform a show in San Diego, California and another in Irvine, CA early August. The composer, singer-songwriter and record producer will present his highly acclaimed music accompanied by an all-star rock band and the same orchestra and choir that joined him at Coachella 2022.
Following his Halloween shows at the Hollywood Bowl, Danny Elfman returns to SoCal for another set of interesting shows. Elfman will perform a three-hour show with songs from Oingo Boingo, from his solo career including his 2021 album Big Mess, as well as a plethora of his film scores and television themes from Alice in Wonderland, Batman, Edward Scissorhands, The Nightmare Before Christmas, The Simpsons, and more. The audience will be transported into Elfma’s vision and magical world; with his haunting compositions brought to life on stage by an all-star rock band, orchestra and choir, all enhanced by visuals on the big screen. Band members include Stu Brooks on bass, Nili Brosh on guitar, Robin Finck on guitar, and Ilan Rubin on drums.
Elfman rose to fame as the singer-songwriter for the new wave band Oingo Boingo in the ’80s. In 1985 Elfman scored his first studio film Pee-wee’s Big Adventure followed by the 1986 Back to School. Elfman teamed up with Tim Burton for future projects such as Beetlejuice, Batman, Edward Scissorhands, The Nightmare Before Christmas, and more. Elfman has earned four Academy Award nominations, three Golden Globe Awards nominations, 12 Grammy Award nominations, and has won two Emmys, one Grammy and other awards for his musical compositions and more. Elfman has written for or scored for countless of television shows and films, generally sticking with an orchestral style.
