Anthony Santos, who was born on July 21, 1981, in the Bronx, New York, began his musical career in the church choir before helping to create Aventura with his brothers Lenny and Max Santos and cousin Henry Santos. The young musicians, who were formerly known as Los Tinellers, released their first full-length album as Aventura in 1999 after making their full-blown debut in 1995 with Trampa de Amor. Bachata was combined with R&B, pop, and hip-hop by Aventura to achieve mainstream popularity.
Romeo Santos, a chart-topping vocalist, songwriter, and producer with a beautiful, silky, passionate tenor, first gained notoriety as the main singer for the legendary boy band Aventura before launching a tremendously lucrative solo career in 2011. Santos’ 2011 debut album Formula, Vol. 1 was a Top Five hit in the U.S., and his 2014 follow-up Formula, Vol. 2 was a multi-platinum blockbuster thanks to his adept blending of tropical origins and bachata with hip-hop, trap, dance rhythms, Latin soul, neo-electro, pop, and rock. With the star-studded 2017 album Golden and the successful 2019 album Utopia, which contained the smash song “Inmortal” performed by a reunited Aventura, and which gave rise to the concert film Utopia Live from MetLife Stadium in 2021, his career increased. Santos’ Formula album trilogy was finished the following year with the release of Formula, Vol. 3.
