Poppy and PVRIS are teaming up for a co-headlining tour titled the “Godless/Goddess Tour” with special guests Pom Pom Squad and Tommy Genesis for support. The tour consists of 18-dates across North America this summer including a stop at Los Angeles’ The Wiltern on Thursday, August 24.
Poppy and PVRIS announced their co-headlining tour early April via social media. The two alternative artists are bringing support from indie rock band Pom Pom Squad and alt pop singer-rapper Tommy Genesis on selected dates. The news followed the release of Poppy’s latest single “Church Outfit.” PVRIS also released new music with their latest single “Good Enemy” ahead of their upcoming album EVERGREEN, set to release on July 14, 2023, via Hopeless Records. The tour kicks off August 18 in Seattle, Washington and concludes on September 15 in Toronto, Canada. Along the way the two artists are set to hit major cities such as San Francisco, Las Vegas, Houston, Cleveland, and more.
PVRIS is a pop rock act founded and fronted by multi-instrumentalist, singer-songwriter and producer Lyndsey Gunnulfsen. PVRIS’s upcoming highly-anticipated album will be their fourth album. Gunnulfsen called it “a reclamation of control in our post-pandemic culture, posing a complex discussion on fame, technology, spectacle, and female autonomy.” Ahead of the release of the 11-track record, PVRIS will be heading out on tour as part of the Sad Summer Festival and also make an appearance at Slam Dunk Festival late May.
Poppy first rose to fame with her art performance videos on YouTube. In 2015 she signed a recording contract with Island Records releasing her debut EP Bubblebath a year later. In 2017, Poppy debuted her first full studio album Poppy.Computer via Mad Decent. The album consisted of pop music from art pop to bubblegum pop. In her second studio record Am I a Girl? Poppy’s sound shifted to a heavy metal influence. Her third record I Disagree, released via Sumerian Records, incorporated heavy metal and industrial rock. The Grammy Award-winning artist has confirmed that she is working on her fifth studio record and is set to release a new single, a cover of Kittie’s “Spit” on Wednesday, May 3.
