Goth rock legends The Cure announced their first North American tour in seven years. For the first time since 2016, The Cure returns to the Hollywood Bowl with a three-night residency on May 23, 24 and 25. The band will be accompanied by The Twilight Sad on their tour.
Following their 2022 European tour, The Cure finally makes their way back to the states with their first North American tour in nearly a decade. The English rock band not only announced their 30-date U.S. tour but also assured fans that they will make all tickets affordable. Using the Ticketmaster Verified Fan program, fans will be granted sale codes and will be the only ones able to purchase a ticket via Ticketmaster. Tickets are rumored to be as low as $20 for most U.S. shows. The U.S. tour kicks off on May 10 in New Orleans, LA and concludes on July 1 in Miami, FL.
The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees were set to release a new album, Songs of a Lost World, in 2022 but has been delayed. However, the band has been performing new music on stage giving fans a sneak peek of the upcoming project. Said project will be The Cure’s first release since 2008’s 4:13 Dream, the band’s 13th studio record.
The Cure formed in 1978 in West Sussex. The band became popular in the post-punk and new wave era in the U.K. during the release of their debut album, Three Imaginary Boys. In following albums, the group leaned towards a darker style forming their gothic rock roots. Throughout their 45 years, The Cure won and was nominated for various awards including two Grammy nominations for Best Alternative Music Album and winning two Brit Awards for British Video of the Year and British Group. The band is best known for their commercially successful hits “Boys Don’t Cry,” “Just Like Heaven” and “Friday, I’m in Love.” The Cure has undergone various changes in its lineup but currently consists of original member Robert Smith, Simon Gallup, Roger O’Donnell, Perry Bamonte, Jason Cooper, Reeves Gabrels.
