Type O Negative Share Live Footage of Performance at 2007 Wacken Festival in Music Video for “Love You To Death”

On March 13, 2007 American gothic metal band Type O Negative released their seventh and final studio album Dead Again and this year marks the 15 anniversary of the band’s final record before the passing of bassist and vocalist Peter Steele.

In honor of Steele, today Type O Negative released the live music video of “Love You To Death” which comes from the band’s  appearance at the 2007 Wacken festival.

According to consequence.net the footage was originally included on the  1996 album October Rust, “Love You to Death” is  the band’s signature song which fuses gothic camp, doom metal and heartfelt emotion. The tune  had to be added on the setlist for every show.

In the video the late Steele’s command of voice and instrument remains strong throughout the performance while the rest of the band used their musical talents to create more havoc including keyboardist Josh Silver.

The actual recording of the Wacken performance was included on the 15 anniversary triple-LP reissue of Type O Negative‘s final album Dead Again which was released last fall.

Nuclear Blast Records have announced a condensed double-LP release of Dead Again which is set to drop May 15. Plus the  bonus live tracks will heading to streaming services for the first time.

Dead Again was engineered, mixed and mastered by Mike Marciano in 2006 at System Two Studios in Brooklyn, NY. The album was produced by Steele and Silver who also aided the mixing of the record.
