Billboard Women In Music At The YouTube Theater On March 1st

Every year Billboard honors female musicians, creators, producers and contributors to the industry for their extraordinary participation within the community. The ceremony aims to honor the influential female powerhouses across genres and generations who helped define today’s music. This year, multi-talented Quinta Brunson is set to host the Billboard Women in Music Awards. Brunson is an American writer, producer, actress, and comedian best known for creating, executive producing and starring in the comedy series Abbott Elementary.

Among the eight honorees are two Latinas and reggaeton artists being awarded Becky G and Ivy Queen. Inglewood-based artist Becky G will be presented the Impact Award and is best known for her songs “Mamii” and “Mayores.” Ivy Queen will receive the Icon Award as she is accredited for helping create the genre of reggaeton and opening doors for the future generation of female artists. Puerto Rican legend Ivy Queen is best known for breaking barriers, empowering music and creating a safe space for women and the LGBTQ community.

K-pop group Twice are set to receive the Breakthrough Award. Twice has become one of the biggest international girl groups in the world since their debut in 2015. Doechii will receive the Rising Star Award, Kim Petras will be given the Chartbreaker Award, Latto will be honored with the Powerhouse Award, Lainey Wilson is set to take home the Rulebreaker Award, and Lana Del Rey will receive the Visionary Award. Sza will be recognized as the Woman of the Year.
