Grammy Award-winning group The Roots announce the return of their legendary annual The Roots Grammy Jam Session set for Saturday, Feb. 4 at Los Angeles’ El Rey Theatre. This 2023 event marks the first in three years that The Roots will host their iconic pre-Grammy event.
For nearly two decades, The Roots have hosted the legendary event and promise to make its return a once-in-a-lifetime event in Los Angeles. The Roots Grammy Jam Session 2023 will open with a set from Adam Blackstone and his Legacy Experience and a multitude of special guests to be revealed soon.
In previous years, The Roots have performed alongside John Legend, Queen Latifah, Jamie Foxx, Ty Dolla $ign, Lenny Kravitz, Ed Sheeran, and Miley Cyrus. Though special guests have yet to be announced be assured it will be a grand collaboration.
The Roots have consistently elevated music, culture and more by being one of the most influential and impactful hip-hop group of all time. Founded by Tariq “Black Thought” Trotter and Ahmir “Questlove” Thompson, the three-time Grammy Award-winning multiplatinum group have performed at The White House, have been the longtime house band on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, and have their own annual festival The Roots Picnic. They changed hip-hop forever with their 1999 platinum Things Fall Apart. The Roots made history as the first hip-hop group to perform at Lincoln Center and have been label as one of the greatest live acts in the world.
