Fitz And The Tantrums Perform Sold Out Show At The Belasco, Celebrating 14 Years & More

So much happened at the Fitz and the Tantrums’ sold-out show on Friday, Jan. 27 at The Belasco. The indie pop band performed their hometown show during the Let Yourself Free Tour celebrating 14 years of music with fans.

The Los Angeles-based band set off on their U.S. tour earlier this month in honor of their fifth studio album, Let Yourself Free, released on Nov. 11, 2022. Accompanied by special guest Sammy Rash, Fitz and the Tantrums are sharing new music throughout major cities such as New York, Boston, Atlanta, and others. This past weekend, Fitz and the Tantrums returned to their hometown of LA. Co-lead vocals and percussionist Noelle Scaggs remarked how grateful she was to share the evening with “real fans.” Frontman and lead vocalist Michael Fitzpatrick thanked fans for the sold-out show and commented on the honor he and his band have to perform in front of true supporters that have followed the band since the beginning.

Fitzpatrick shared his motivational story with the crowd of finally achieving his dream within his 40s. He recalled being told to “get a real job” and give up on his dream to be a musician. Luckily, he did not give up and the world can enjoy from great hits such as “Out of My League,” “HandClap,” “Money Maker” and more from Fitz and the Tantrums.  Fitzpatrick concluded his motivational speech with stating it’s never too late to chase your dreams. At 52 years-old, Fitzpatrick now has five studio albums with Fitz and the Tantrums.

The alternative pop band performed 18 songs, seven of which were from the new album. The band also performed hit songs and fan-favorites such as “123456,” “The Walker” and “HandClap” which had the entire venue singing, dancing and of course clapping along with the beat. The group also performed “MoneyGrabber” from their debut album Pickin’ Up The Pieces. Fitz and the Tantrums put on an extraordinary performance with insanely synced lighting, amazing music, great dancing and of course their charming personalities.
