Tool’s drummer Danny Carey will no longer be facing assault charges over an altercation with him that happened at the Kansas City International Airport in 2021. There has been no reason why the charges were dropped but is noted that it was confidential. According to ticket issued by the airport, Carey allegedly “intentionally inflicted injury” while saying a homophobic slur and shoving two fingers at an employee working at the airport.
At the time, TMZ reported that Carey was allegedly facing misdemeanor assault charges and could be allegedly fined up to $13,900. A video of the incident was also caught by TMZ where it showed Carey berating the officers and telling the person filming him to “videotape all of this.” Toward the end of the video, two officers could be seen pushing Carey against a glass wall outside the airport, with one officer ordering Carey not to get too close to them. He was charged with a misdemeanor assault and released on bond.
Tool is set to headline a couple of festivals this year, including Welcome To Rockville and Sonic Temple alongside Kiss and Foo Fighters.
