Jane’s Addiction has announced an eight-date tour for North and South America. The legendary rock band returns for one-night only at Los Angeles’ Hollywood Palladium on Thursday, March 9.
The iconic LA-based rock band, Jane’s Addiction, has announced a series of West Coast dates ahead of the band’s special performances at the South American music festivals Lollapalooza. The band is set to perform five shows in the West Coast including cities such as Bakersfield, Tucson, Los Angeles, Reno, and Las Vegas. The band will then perform at Lollapalooza in Argentina, Brazil and Chile. Though it has not been confirmed, it is suspected that fans will finally get to see the full original lineup perform together during this tour.
The band announced their short spring tour earlier today via social media. The tour follows the band’s fall 2022 U.S. tour with Smashing Pumpkins, Jane’s Addiction’s first tour in over a decade. The Spirit On Fire tour saw the reunion with original bassist Eric Avery. Guitarist Dave Navarro sat out the fall 2022 tour due to COVID, though he did state he was working on new Jane’s Addiction material. Jane’s Addiction then canceled several shows after frontman and vocalist Perry Farrell sustained an injury.
Jane’s Addiction formed in Los Angeles in 1985. It’s original lineup consists of vocalist Perry Farrell, guitarist Dave Navarro, drummer Stephen Perkins, and bassist Eric Avery. The group gained attention with their first self-titled live album, Jane’s Addiction, in 1987 becoming one of the biggest sensation in the LA club scene. The band went on to release two studio records before disbanding in 1991, which in result led to Farrell’s creation of Lollapalooza. The band briefly returned in 2003 and then in 2011 releasing their fourth studio album The Great Escape Artist. The band best recognized for their hit “Jane Says” is expected to release a fifth studio album some time in 2023.
