NEW DATE: The Postal Service & Death Cab for Cutie at the Hollywood Bowl on Oct. 17

The Postal Service and Death Cab for Cutie have added a third date at Los Angeles’ Hollywood Bowl on October 17. The band will perform their landmark albums Give Up and Transalanticism in full for on their fall 2023 tour.

Due to high demand The Postal Service and Death Cab for Cutie have added another Los Angeles date to their co-headlining fall tour. The two bands celebrate the 20th anniversaries of their biggest album, Give Up and Transalanticism. On the 25-date tour, Benjamin Gibbard, co-founder of both bands, will pull double duty performing with The Postal Service and Death Cab for Cutie. The extraordinary live run will see both groups performing their seminal 2003 albums in full throughout major cities in the U.S. such as Boston, New York City, Las Vegas, and more.

The Postal Service is an American indie pop supergroup formed in 2001. The band consists of Benjamin Gibbard, Jimmy Tamborello and Jenny Lewis. In 2003, the band released their only album, Give Up, which reached platinum certification. The band remained inactive for several years returning for a short reunion in 2013 for the re-issue of Give Up. In 2020, the band returned via social media teasing announcements. It wasn’t until this year that the band announced their return to the stage with a co-headlining tour with Death Cab for Cutie set for fall 2023.

Death Cab for Cutie is a rock band formed in Washington in 1997. The band consists of Ben Gibbard , Nick Harmer, Dave Depper, Zac Rae, and Jason McGerr. Initially Gibbard created Death Cab for Cutie as a solo project and ultimately formed a full band. In 1998, the band released their debut album, Something About Airplanes. The band gained traction with their fourth album, Transalanticism, with several tracks being featured in various TV series and films. The band’s tenth studio album, Asphalt Meadows, released on Sept. 16, 2022 via Atlantic Records. The alternative rock band has earned eight Grammy Award-nominations over the years and won an MTV Video Music Award for Best Editing for their music video of “I Will Posses Your Heart.”
