After spending nights sleeping on friends’ couches and performing in small venues, Tyler Childers major breakthrough was due to his 2017 album, Purgatory. In 2018, Childers won the Emerging Artist of the Year for the American Music Honors and Awards. In 2020, Childers earned his first Grammy Award-nomination for Best Country Solo Performance for his single “All Your’n.”
On Sept, 30, 2022, Childers released a triple album Can I Take My Hounds to Heaven? with eight songs presented in three different versions, making it a total of 24 songs. The album is divided into three parts: Hallelujah, Jubilee and Joyful Noise. Childers descries the record as a spiritual record aimed to create a welcoming and harmonious atmosphere.
