Norwegian extreme metal band Enslaved announced a month-long North American co-headlining tour with death metal band Insomnium. The tour will run throughout the month of April in 2023. The 20-date tour includes a stop at the Fonda Theatre in Los Angeles, California on Saturday, April 22, 2023, with supporting act Black Anvil.
Enslaved and Insomnium North American co-headlining tour 2023 comes ahead of Enslaved’s forthcoming album, Heimdal, set to release March 3, 2023. Enslaved is set to return to North America with their first full tour in five years. The progressive metal band will bring new music and a few surprises to the states during their month-long marathon tour.
The Norwegian band consists of vocalist Grutle Kjellson, guitarists Ivar Bjørnson and Arve “Ice Dale” Isdal, keyboardist and clean vocals Håkon Vinje, and drummer Iver Sandøy. The metal band formed in 1991 and has undergone several changes in their lineup throughout the years. The band’s music is heavily influenced by the Viking culture and religious heritage of their home of Norway. Despite its consistent lyrical influence drawn from Norse mythology, the band’s sound has changed over the years resulting in a progressive metal sound. Their upcoming 16th studio album, Heimdal, is not an exception as it is inspired after Heimdal, one of the most mysterious entities in Nordic mythology.
Insomnium will co-headline with Enslaved for their North American tour 2023. Insomnium is descried as a melodic death metal from Finland. The band formed in 1997 and is best known for their sound and lyrical themes portraying darkness, sorrow and pain. Insomnium is set to release their ninth studio album, Anno 1696, to be released on Feb. 24, 2023.
