Tiësto born Tijs Michiel Verwest on January 17, 1969. As a Dutch DJ and record producer, he has used lots of aliases in the past, but he is best known for his works under the name DJ Tiësto.
Tiesto has had an interest in music since the young age of twelve. A couple years later, he decided to dedicate most of his time to music and began DJing professionally at school parties, moving on to become a resident DJ between 1985 and 1994 at different clubs in the Netherlands.
Jumping to the 2020s, Tiësto released his sixth album, The London Sessions. In September 2020, he signed to Atlantic Records and made his debut for the label with the Grammy-nominated “The Business,” which featured vocals (uncredited) from James Yami Bell. The song became an absolute hit internationally. It topped the charts in the Netherlands and landed at number two on Billboard’s Hot Dance/Electronic Songs chart. Soon after, Tiësto released a part two to the track which featured Ty Dolla $ign. A little later in the year, the producer snatched another hit with “Don’t Be Shy” featuring Karol G. “The Motto” with Ava Max, put him at the top of the Dutch charts once again, as well as “Hot in It” featuring Charli XCX, dropped in 2021.
