Come to E11even to see CeeLo Green perform some of your favorite songs on November 5th.
In 1991, four friends formed the hip-hop group, Goodie Mob. Three years later, that group went on to feature on Atlanta rappers, OutKast, first album. Similarly, CeeLo Green and his group mates dropped their debut album, Soul Food (1995), right after. After more music and acclamations, Green left the group to begin his solo career.
CeeLo Green hit it big with the release of his song “Fuck You!” (2010), an infectious up-beat track in which he is wishing ill on his girlfriend’s new lover. The single (which was cleansed of any profanity for radio ears “Forget You”) was used as the focal point of his album The Lady Killer (2010) which earned four Grammy nominations. It won the award for best urban/alternative performance.
As his fame increased, Green found his way into television. He was seen as a coach on the first three seasons (2011–13) of the hugely famous singing competition The Voice and the host of the show Talking to Strangers, in 2011 as well. He later appeared in the cast of musical film Sparkle (2012) (a film set in the 1960’s) and provided his voice for the animated movie Hotel Transylvania (2012) as the character Murray the Mummy. In 2020, he released his sixth solo album, CeeLo Green Is Thomas Callaway.
