Jazz Is Dead LA Announce Series Of LA Shows Including Os Mutantes At The Lodge Room On Nov. 19 & 20

Jazz Is Dead record label has announced a fall tour with a series of artists performing in a few Los Angeles venues. The tour begins with the first ever LA performance by Cortex at the Lodge Room on Oct. 2 through Oct. 4. Another special show during this series is the two-night performance of the Brazilian band Os Mutantes at the Lodge Room on Nov. 19 and 20, just in time for the band to close off their U.S. 2022 Tour.

The Brazilian rock band Os Mutantes has joined the Jazz Is Dead Tour, closing out their U.S. Tour in Los Angeles. For the first time since 2013, Os Mutantes returns to the U.S. for a full tour. Their U.S. tour kicks off late October in Texas with supporting guest Claude Fontaine and is set to close out in November with two consecutive shows in Los Angeles at the Lodge Room. The tour follows the release of their 2020 album, Zzyzx, their 11th studio album.

Os Mutantes are an influential rock band often associated with the Tropicália movement in Brazil. Although the band formed in the ‘60s and has undergone several changes in their lineup, they are still considered of the biggest Brazilian rock groups. After a hiatus from the lates 1970s to early 2000s, the band reunited in 2006 with new material and special appearances. Following the release of their 2013 album, Fool Metal Jack, the band took a quick hiatus returning in 2020 with a new album and more.

Artdontsleep and Jazz Is Not Dead kick off their LA show series with three consecutive sold out shows with French Jazz-Funk band Cortex and a DJ set by Frosty (Dublab) at the Lodge Room from Oct. 2 through Oct. 4. This will be the first ever LA performance by Cortex. The show series continues with a farewell music sessions by Milton Nascimento at the Mayan Theater on Oct. 13 and 14. A small orchestra is set to join the voice of Milton on stage to bring his iconic songs to life. The Brazilian concert series continues with a tribute concert for Airto Moreira with performances by Byron Miller, Liana Souza, Patricce Rushen and many more on Oct. 25 at the Lodge Room.
