Special Interest is set to tour California this fall with four shows including a special appearance at Primavera Sound Los Angeles on Sept. 16. As part of Primavera Sound’s special Los Angeles city shows series, Special Interest will be at The Echo on Tuesday, Sept. 13.
Following their European and U.K. Spring 2022 Tour and a sold out show at Primavera Sound Barcelona, the indie punk band has announced four shows throughout California set for this fall. On Sept. 12 Special Interest will be in San Diego at the night club Casbah. The tour continues with a performance at the Constellation Room in Santa Ana on Sept. 14 and a special appearance at Primavera Sound Los Angeles at the LA Historic State Park on Sept. 17. The tour recently gained its fourth show with the announcement of a performance at The Echo on Sept. 13.
Special Interest is an indie punk band from New Orleans, Louisiana. The band consists of vocalist Alli Logout, guitarist Maria Elena, bassist Nathan Cassiani and synthesizer and drummer Ruth Mascelli. The band refers to themselves as genre non-conforming. Though the band has touches of indie, electronic and more, their sound tends to stick to a punk influence yet well-mix their influences into a new sound.
In 2018, Special Interest debuted their first album Spiraling via Raw Sugar Records. In 2021, the band announced that they officially signed with Rough Trade Records and released their third album Trust No Wave. In the same year the group released a remix album based on their second full album The Passion Of.
