Following the passing of Howie Pyro, a founding member of New York City punk band D Generation, his longtime friend and bandmate Jesse Malin announced a tribute show to the great musician and DJ. The Howie Pyro Forever tribute concert includes over 10 artists for the lineup and in honor of Pyro all proceeds of this event will go to the UCLA Liver Transplant Foundation.
Howie Pyro Forever’s lineup is composed of 12 extraordinary artists such as: Rancid’s Tim Armstrong, The Dickies, Jesse Malin and The Teardrops, L7’s Suzi Gardner, Gogol Bordello’s Eugene Hutz, MC5’s Wayne Kramer, Bad Seed’s Kid Congo Powers, Murphy’s Law’s Jimmy G., Prima Donna’s Kevin Preston, The Woggles’ The Mighty Manfred, DJ Kat Von D and DJ Mr. Pharmacist.

Howie Pyro was a DJ, musician and a founding member of the punk rock band D Generation and Blessed. Pyro was a vital to the New York punk scene in the ‘70s and ‘80s. Pyro was friends with the Sex Pistols’ Sid Vicious and was one of the last to see him alive. Pyro moved to Los Angeles and became a DJ.
In December 2021, underwent a liver transplant and faced several complications. On May 4, 2022, Pyro’s friend and bandmate Jesse Malin confirmed Pyro’s death resulting from Covid-related complications such as pneumonia after suffering from liver disease.
