Water Is Life Announces 2022 Festival Lineup Featuring Ani DiFranco, Allison Russell, Dessa And More

Water Is Life, the environmental justice festival in Duluth, Minnesota has announced that Dessa, Tia Wood, and Gaelynn Lea will be performing at the event, according to the event’s official Instagram post. The festival, which will be held on September 4 at the Bayfront Festival Park, is meant to raise awareness about indigenous rights, suitability, clean food and water, and the fight against climate change. Some of the other performers include Ani DiFranco, Indigo Girls, LOW, Allison Russell, Annie Humphrey, Keith Secola, Joe Rainey Sr., David Huckfelt, Corey Medina, and Red Lake Ojibwe hip hop artist Thomas X and more.

Honor the Earth is hosting the event, with production coming from the legendary venue First Avenue. Honor the Earth’s website states that “a growing list of sponsors that includes The Current, Planned Parenthood, Superior Cannabis Company, Wild State Cider and others. Local, organic food vendors, regionally sourced food and beverages, and a variety of organizations centered around sustainability, Indigenous rights, climate and clean water will all be onsite throughout the day.” The event is hosted by Winona LaDuke, an economist and activist who, in 1993, founded Honor the Earth with Indigo Girls.

The event is for all ages, and tickets are $40 advance, $50 at the door. Children under 10 have free entry. Read more about the event on the host’s website here.
