Snail Mail has shared a cover of Superdrag’s “Feeling Like I Do.” Also known as Lindsey Jordan, Snail Mail’s rendition of the song is fitting with her sound. Compared to the original, Jordan’s rendition is a tad bit darker but in the best way. Check out the awesome cover below. Alongside the cover, she also released a new version of ‘Headlock” from her 2021 album Valentine.
Jordan spoke about the songs in a press release. “I think that the Spotify version of ‘Headlock’ is different from the original, in that the original was recorded almost two years ago, and the more I perform the song the more I think of ideas that I wish I had put into the original. This version gave me the opportunity to implement some of those ideas.” With her cover of the Superdrag classic, she says “It’s been really cool getting to cover ‘Feeling Like I Do’ by Superdrag because I love it, and I’ve loved it for a while, and I was able to make it my own by singing on it.”
Earlier this year, Snail Mail covered the Smashing Pumpkins hit “Tonight, Tonight” at the Treefort Music Festival in Idaho. The band is currently on the road in support of Valentine in the UK and was recently announced to play Atlantic City’s inaugural Frantic City music festival alongside Yo La Tengo and Car Seat Headrest.
