Earlier this month, the electronic industrial rock band My Life with the Thrill Kill Kult announced that they would be celebrating the 30 anniversary of their 1991 studio album Sexplosion!. It’s finally here! They are sharing a deluxe reissue of the album via Wax Trax! Records. The band also released a new, unreleased track titled, “Any Way Ya Wanna”, which was recorded during the same sessions as the rest of the album in 1991.
Originating in Chicago, the band consists of Groovy Mann (Franke Nardiello) and Buzz McCoy (Marston Daley). Sexplosion! is My Life with the Thrill Kill Kult’s third album, and it became their most influential and groundbreaking album. Led by their radio hit “Sex on Wheelz”, the album took the number 10 spot on the Billboard Dance/Club Play Songs in 1991, and it became the band’s biggest album, which sold in excess of 250,000 copies. Now, the new expanded edition has been wonderfully remastered and it’s timed to celebrate its 30 anniversary (or, due to the coronavirus, its 31 anniversary).
The 5-minute video is a flashback to the 1990s with a blurred and distorted music video that features psychedelic clips of dancing women. It will take fans back to the days of MTV. Frontman of the band, Groovie Mann sings, “Do it any way you can” and the funky horns make listeners want to do just that on the dance floor. Listen to the funky groove below.
The tracks on the remastered album also includes “Any Way Ya Wanna”, “Sex on Wheelz (Midnite Marauder Mix)”, “Leathersex (Remix)” and “Sexplosion (Mega-mixx).”Also, 1,500 limited transparent pink vinyls are available to buy here.
