James Bay Announces New Album Leap For July 2022 Release, Shares New Song And Video “One Life”

Today, multi-platinum singer, songwriter, producer, and guitarist James Bay releases the official music video for “One Life.” The three-time Grammy award-winning artist will release his highly anticipated third full-length album, Leap, on July 8th via Mercury/Republic Records. You can pre-order the album here.

“One Life” is a tribute to Bay’s lifelong love, Lucy. Bay wrote on Instagram: “This is a song I wrote about me and Lucy. We first got together at 16 and have been together ever since. She’s supported me since day 1. From open mic nights, right through to my biggest shows. It’s been one adventure after another, but now we’re on the biggest one of all. Raising our beautiful daughter Ada.”

The song, which can be listened to below, is as heartfelt as it is catchy, and the video is a perfect visual representation of Bay’s love for his family. The melody is sweet and simple, with Bay’s smooth voice complimenting the guitar perfectly. The video is a series of home videos that display the growth of Bay and Lucy’s relationship, from their pregnancy announcement to present day. The message is clear: Bay is grateful for the life he has with his loved ones, and he wants to cherish every moment, all while paying mind to the support system that has been with him from the beginning.

For his latest album, Bay worked with a number of top-tier producers and songwriters, including Foy Vance [Ed Sheeran], Dave Cobb [Brandi Carlile, Chris Stapleton], Ian Fitchuk [Kacey Musgraves, Brett Eldredge], Joel Little [Lorde, Taylor Swift] & Finneas [Billie Eilish, The Knocks].

If you want to catch him live, Bay will be joining The Lumineers on their 2022 Brightside World Tour, playing nine dates including Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena on September 1st and Chicago’s Wrigley Field on September 3rd.
