Sometimes Y First Ever Headlining Show At The Viper Room

Sometime Y jam-packed the Viper Room for their first-ever headlining show on Sunday, May 8^th. The intimate nightclub was overcrowded with fans eager to celebrate with the dynamic new rock band and watch them perform their recently released self-titled debut album.

Following their debut live performance at The Rainbow Bar and Grill’s 50^th Anniversary celebration, Sometimes Y, a collaboration from Yelawolf and Shooter Jennings, perform their debut album at the famous LA nightclub The Viper Room. The nightclub is a legendary live music venue located on the world-famous Sunset Strip founded in the ‘90s by Johnny Depp. Sometimes Y heard rumors of The Viper Room possibly shutting down and quickly decided to perform a free show at the legendary venue.

Fans jam-packed the nightclub hours before the show, barely leaving any room to wiggle through. Hundreds of fans enjoyed drinks and hit songs ranging from rock and roll classics to punk rock hits as they waited for the rock stars to take the stage.

Close to 9 o’clock the curtains opened as the crowd loudly cheered as Sometimes Y was revealed on stage performing their fast-paced track “Sometimes Y.” Sometimes Y rocked the stage with their debut album, which was produced by two-time Garmmy-award winner Jennings and released via Yelawolf’s label Slumerican. The crowd cheered and sang along with Yelawolf as Sometimes Y performed their entire 10-track album. Many audience members including Fefe Dobson danced to Sometimes Y’s singles such as “Make Me A Believer” and “Radio.”

Mid-set list, Yelawolf slowly lit a cigarette as the music slowed down. The spotlight shined directly onto Yelawolf, his bedazzled jacked beaming in the light. The cigarette smoke flowing into the light, dramatizing the scenery as Sometimes Y played “Shoe String,” mimicking a poetry slam night during the fifth track of their album.

Sometimes Y is definetly a bold and exciting act to watch, always keeping the audience on their toes. Something that is lived through their debut album which ranges from ‘80s rock and roll, to country, to punk rock and much more. Let’s hope there’s more to come from Sometimes Y.
