After a decade, Debbie Gibson is back with new music with an album entitled The Body Remembers. The album is accompanied by a summer U.S. tour which includes one stop in Los Angeles, California at El Rey Theatre on Wednesday, June 22nd.
Singer-songwriter, pianist, actress, and much more, Debbie Gibson debuted her music career with a triple platinum album entitled Out of the Blue. The album contained her hit song “Foolish Beat” which turned Gibson into the youngest female artist to write, produce and perform a No. 1 single on the BillboardHot 100. Gibson’s second album Electric Youth, reached double platinum and continued Gibson’s reign with No.1 hit songs. In 1989, Gibson was awarded Songwriter of the Year Award alongside Bruce Springsteen by the American Society of Composers, Authors, and Publishers. She’s also known for her starring roles on Broadway musicals such as Sandy in Grease and Eponine in Les Miserables.
In 2021, Gibson released her 10th studio album The Body Remembers through her own label Stargirl Records. The album is the first studio recording full of original songs since M.Y.O.B., released in 2001, and features a new version of her second major hit single “Lost In Your Eyes” with Joey McIntyre.
