Florence + the Machine have unveiled a new single from their upcoming album Dance Fever. “My Love” is the third single from the album, following “Heaven Is Here” and “King.”
The group’s new song is an energetic combination that stays true to the album’s name, making listeners want to dance through exhaustion. In “My Love,” Florence Welch sings about unrequited love. The newly-released music video shows Welch in a 1970s-style club, performing for its unknowing inhabitants.
Later in the video, the audience joins Welch in a dance sequence similar to the music video for “Heaven Is Here.” Again, at the end of the video, Welch collapses and only awakes to conclude her performance with relief and solace written on her face.
“So tell me where to put my love. Do I wait for time to do what it does? I don’t know where to put my love,” the main chorus says.
Dance Fever follows Florence + the Machine’s 2018 album High as Hope, which was produced by Welch alongside Jack Antonoff and Dave Bayley of Glass Animals. Dance Fever will be released May 13.
