A Memorable Year For 88rising’s Head In The Clouds Festival

88rising’s Head in the Clouds music festival rendered a unique ambiance and immense thrill on Saturday, November 6th and Sunday, November 7th with major performances from Saweetie, Rich Brian, Niki, and more. The two-day festival offered fans an unforgettable experience with non-stop music, delicious food, savory drinks, and more.

Day one began with an outstanding performance from the Japanese girl group Atarashii Gakko. This was the group’s first performance in the United States and of course quite astonishing. The group opened the festival with intense energy and a full show that included synchronized choreography, short skits, and a rendition of Beasti Boys’ “Intergalactic.”

DPR Ian and DPR Live had fans screaming and singing along throughout their entire set. The duo had many surprises up their sleeves including bringing out special guest Crush to perform “Hula Hoops” and DPR Rem to hype up the crowd. The duo later returned to join the glamorous South Korean Rapper CL on stage for a special performance.

DJs Elephante and Illenium kept the crowd hyped up with incredible beats and potent bass drops. Elephante enchanted the crowd with his voice and insane guitar solos. Illenium premiered new music including “From The Ashes.” Saweetie and her icy girls continued the hype and brought gifts for fans such as what appeared to be jewelry and lip gloss.

The night ended with an unbelievable performance from Rich Brian. Anyone that knows Rich Brian will expect some comedy implemented into his music, naturally, he did not disappoint fans as he had his backup dancers dress up as edamame for his hit song “Edamame.” Rich Brian also had many surprises for fans including performing his “Tokyo Drift Freestyle” and bringing special guests to the stage such as Guapdad 4000 and August 08. Soon after, Rich Brian, Niki, and Joji gave a sneak peek of night two during the closing ceremony.

Day two continued with surprises and incredible music. The day began with the strong vocals of My Anh who surprised fans with the premiere of her single “Look Easy” from her upcoming album. Luna Li serenaded the crowd with her violin and beautiful voice. The LA native punk rock band The Linda Lindas stormed the stage with their high-energy and had the crowd dancing along to their latest single “Oh!”

Bibi had fans screaming during her performance and had many stunned when she walked into the crowd to kiss a lucky fan. The crowd chanted as Joji took the stage and had everyone singing along throughout his performance. As always, Joji entertained fans by inserting his humor into his setlist and surprised fans by cannonballing gifts into the crowd. The night concluded with a magical moment as the crowd bonded and sang 88rising’s “Midsummer Madness” alongside Niki, Rich Brian, and Warren Hue.

Throughout the duration of the event, guests were able to purchase food from 626 Night Market vendors, drinks, and exclusive merchandise from Guess and 88rising. Without a doubt, festival-goers were able to enjoy the event to a full extent. Let’s hope Head In The Clouds returns next year for another weekend of food, music, joy, and inexplicable experiences.
