Every Halloween, Evan Rachel Wood and Zane Carney cover songs from The Rocky Horror Picture Show. This year at their “EVAN + ZANE, Halloween IV, Presented by LD Systems ®” event they covered “I’m Going Home,” originally performed in the musical by Tim Curry and “Bark at The Moon” by Ozzy Osbourne — two songs that sound widely different but are equally powerful.
In both videos, the artists stand in front of a wall of guitars, Wood donning a sleeveless black dress and her iconic pinned red hair. In their acoustic version of “I’m Going Home,” Carney’s harmonious ad-libs capture the nostalgia of the track, and as Wood’s voice gets louder, it appears as if she gets stronger from the idea of returning home — that doing so is a sign of all she’s accomplished. “Bark at The Moon,” on the other hand, captures more of the electric energy often associated with the era, with the guitar riffs coming straight from 1983 and Wood’s voice undoubtedly inspired by the Prince of Darkness.

In 2020, the artists, who perform together under the name Evan + Zane, performed a set of covers at The Hotel Cafe in LA titled “Welcome to the Machine.” Earlier this year, Wood covered “You Get What You Give” by the New Radicals after her alleged abuser Marilyn Manson began receiving attention despite facing several abuse allegations from multiple women.
