Wolf Alice Screen Blue Weekend Film at the LA Grammy Museum

The U.K. alternative rock band held a special screening of their new film Blue Weekend at the Los Angeles Grammy Museum on Wednesday, October 27th. The film, directed by Jordan Hemingway, was followed by a Q&A and a special acoustic performance by Wolf Alice.

Not only is their film Blue Weekend inspired by their latest album, but it is also an incredible depiction of a night out in London, bringing Wolf Alice’s music to life by fully emerging the audience in a unique experience.

The film was followed by a Q&A lead by Anna Bulbrook. The conversation touched on several points including the band’s experience of creating an album amidst a pandemic. The band discussed their ambitions of wanting to create a Grammy-worthy album, their thought process while composing their album Blue Weekend as well as their experience working with Markus Dravs. When asked about the creation of the Blue Weekend film, Wolf Alice lead singer Ellie Rowsell added that she had seen Hemingway’s Lipstick 2.0 film and was filled with awe by his storytelling which led to the band’s desire to work with the image-maker.

Following the Q&A was an intimate acoustic performance by Wolf Alice which left many guests starstruck by the band’s immense talent. Rowsell’s voice was euphoric, transporting the audience to some sort of dreamland. Between each song the band answered questions directly from audience members, making the event a more profound experience for fans. The performance included acoustic renditions of “Smile,” “How Can I Make It OK?” and a cover of Alex G’s “Bobby.” The night concluded with a standing ovation from the entire audience.

The Grammy-nominated band is currently touring across the U.S. and will kick off their U.K. tour in January 2022 followed by a European tour in February 2022. To see tour dates and listen to new music visit Wolfalice.co.uk.
