Dark Mark vs. Skeleton Joe announce their self titled album featuring Mark Lanegan from Screaming Trees and Joe Cardamone from The Icarus Line. After their previous single together, the announcement for a full length album brings excitement to the eyes of listeners, as it is promised that it will be the electronic, experimental music they’ve made together in the past. Dark Mark vs. Skeleton Joe will be out on October 15 via Rare Bird/ Kitten Robot Records. Lanegan and Cardamone explain how this project stemmed from the creation of their alter egos, Dark Mark and Skeleton Joe, “as if we’re now outcasts to our own creative selves,” (Cardamone).
In addition to their announcement, the duo released “No Justice” on Soundcloud, giving a taste of what will be on the upcoming album. This experimental track has it all, from high synths to the lower registers of the programmed drums and bass line that will have you humming along. Listen to their song “No Justice” here.
Mark Lanegan has been a part of a number of bands throughout his career, such as Screaming Trees and Queens of the Stone Age, focusing in the grunge and alternative rock genres. Similarly Joe Cardamone from The Icarus Line has been well known in the post-hardcore scene, so this project definitely takes on a style of its own, mixing the hardcore end of rock with electronic music and haunting vocals.
