Kanye West Shares Apple Music Exclusive Live Stream Counting Down to Release of Donda

American rapper, producer and enigmatic artist Kanye West is livestreaming again. West, seemingly a permanent fixture in the music news cycle, has launched an exclusive livestream on Apple Music that is counting down to the release of his much anticipated 10th studio album Donda.

In quintessential West fashion, the livestream consists of a continuous feed of West’s makeshift room in the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Georgia. A singular clock can be seen counting down to 12:30 a.m. In addition to this stream, West is scheduled to have a 2nd listening event on Thursday, August 5th at 9 p.m. that will preview the latest iteration of Donda.

Originally set to be released on July 23rd following a livestream, Donda’s release has been a source of uncertainty for West’s fans that were hoping for a smoother rollout compared to his most recent projects. Since the delay of Donda, West has taken up residency in the Mercedes-Benz Stadium to finalize the incomplete album and is reportedly still finishing the album on the Apple Music livestream. Even more, the album still lacks an official track list just hours before the listening event and scheduled release.

Donda is a project inspired by West’s late mother Donda. According to previous listening parties, the album is said to feature Jay-Z, Lil Baby, Travis Scott, Pusha T and more. It is also said to follow the gospel themes of West’s 2019 album Jesus is King.

Donda is due to release on Friday, August 6th across all music streaming platforms.
