Sonic Youth founder Thurston Moore to perform solo show at Le Poisson Rouge on 10/12

Iconic rock musician Thurston Moore will be performing at Le Poisson Rouge on Sunday, September 12th — with a special guest appearance from singer and musician Samara Lubelski. Doors for the 18+ show open at 7:00PM, with the show scheduled to begin at 8:00PM. Tickets are general admission and cost $24.80

Thurston Moore is best known as one of the founding members of Sonic Youth but has long and prolific solo career that spans many decades and genres. He has collaborated with many high profile artists such as Yoko Ono, Dave Grohl, Michael Stipe and Debbie Googe. Moore is ranked 34th in Rolling Stone’s “Best 100 Guitarists of All Time.”

In 2020 Thurston Moore released his seventh solo studio album, By The Fire, a self described ‘political’ album that received mixed reviews from critics. He followed the release of By The Fire with an unexpected 2021 album, Screen Time, which consists of ten instrumental guitar tracks and was released exclusively on Bandcamp in February. The album is considerably more minimalistic and meditative than anything we have heard from Moore, and was well received by both fans and critics who desired a relaxing and contemplative escape during the dark winter months and the COVID-19 pandemic.

If you want to see the talented Thurston Moore and Samara Lubelski perform at one of NYC’s coolest venues, this is a show you’ll want to check out.
