Catch Squid’s First US Tour at The Moroccan Lounge 11/17 and The Constellation Room 11/19/21

UK post-punk outfit Squid recently announced their first ever U.S. tour this Fall. They’ll be stopping in Los Angeles and Orange County, first at The Moroccan Lounge on November 17 and then the Constellation Room on November 19, 2021. The tour will celebrate the band’s debut release, Bright Green Field, out Next Friday, May 7 via Warp Records.

Squid have released three tracks off their debut album so far including “Paddling,” “Narrator” and most recently “Pamphlets.” Each song is like an incredible, winding post-punk journey with lots of twists and turns. Their new single “Pamphlets” further previews the album’s raw punk energy. It “concludes [Bright Green Field] with eight minutes of Can-ish skyward populsion – the delirious release which justifies all the foregoing tension,” MOJO writes. Squid drummer and lyricist Ollie Judge elaborates: “It’s about all the rubbish right-wing propaganda you get through your front door. It imagines a person with that as their only source of news being taken over by these pamphlets.”

The five-piece Brighton-based band consist of members Ollie Judge (lead vocals, drums), Louis Borlase (guitar, bass, backing vocals), Arthur Leadbetter (keyboards, strings, percussion), Laurie Nankivell (bass, brass, percussion) and Anton Pearson (guitar, bass, backing vocals). Since signing to Warp Records in 2020, they’ve released five singles on their new label. Check out these exciting new singles and grab your tickets to their Orange County or Los Angeles shows!
