Indie pop artist Soccer Mommy has announced new dates for their Fall North American 2021 tour, after having to postpone their 2020 tour due to Covid-19. The tour will make multiple stops in Canada and the U.S., with a Los Angeles date at the Fonda Theater on October 28, 2021. Indie rock artist Emily Reo will open for Soccer Mommy at The Fonda.
Soccer Mommy, aka Sophie Allison, made waves with her 2018 debut release Clean, and quickly garnered a loyal fan base with her catchy indie-pop songs. Her sophomore studio release Color Theory was released in early 2020 and made an even bigger splash, earning mass acclaim from notable news sources, and topped several Billboard charts. With performances opening for Bernie Sanders, numerous upcoming headline dates sold-out months in advance, confirmed festival slots at the likes of Glastonbury and her late-night debut on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, it’s clear that Allison’s fame and popularity will only continue to rise.
Allison shared a sentiment on the creation of Color Theory: “I wanted the experience of listening to color theory to feel like finding a dusty old cassette tape that has become messed up over time, because that’s what this album is: an expression of all the things that have slowly degraded me personally,” Allison says. “The production warps, the guitar solos occasionally glitch, the melodies can be poppy and deceptively cheerful. To me, it sounds like the music of my childhood distressed and, in some instances, decaying.” Grab your tickets and catch this rising Nashville artist!
